Hi everyone!!
I have a Mixed Media Project for you today. It is the cover of the journal included in Flying Unicorn's December Mixed Art Kit. And this is absolutely my favorite mixed media project ever!!!

I could just kick myself, because I almost turned on the camera, when I started....and this would have been a great video!! Seriously.......not including drying time, it took me no more than 15 minutes to complete the cover!!!
Since I didn't record it, here is my process in order of how I achieved it:
- add a light coat of gesso, and dry
Note: I didn't cover the spine, since the color matched the colors I was
adding. Also, my coat was so light, that you can see the original colors
of the cover, peeking out from under the gesso
- paint on the Creameez.....cover about 3/4 of the page
- make a mica powder/water mix, and splash it on
- spray with water, twist and turn your page to get drippage, and dry
- if you feel you need to add more of the spray or mica powder, go ahead and add it now, and dry (allow some white space)
- add more splashes, this time with the gold spray
- run black paint through a face stencil.....remember not too much on your foam applicator, and pounce up and down, and dry
- glue on the Prima Elemental piece
- run light molding paste through the stencil included in the kit, moving downward to make 'hair', and dry
- use soft gel medium to add words, and dry
- trace around words with Pitt Pen
When I say this is my fave ever....I mean it!!!! I haven't art journaled in a long time, and this little piece of magic, has got me back in the groove!!
