The Flying Unicorn CTs are Guest Designers over at CSI (Color, Stories, Inspiration), this month. I loved Challenge # 122!! Everything about it, appealed to me, especially the colors....now, I know, that you could easily push these colors into a Halloween Theme, so I was very mindful of that when I started on my project. Here goes.....
I don't think I've used this pic of my DGS before, but the colors of his bathing suit were perfect for this challenge! I started with Authentique's Elegant Seven paper, and piled on the mixed media. I added stenciling with a Clear Scraps Stencil and Golden Molding Paste. Before it was dry I added a bit of Lindy's Embossing Powder in Spring Leaf Chartreuse over some of the paste, and heat set. Then I sprayed with Lindy's Stamp Gang's Flat Fabio in Greased Lightnin' Green and then splattered Curiouser Chartreuse over that. The black tag is from my stash.
The little wood hearts are from my stash, and were coated with Silks in Spiced Pumpkin. I also splattered a bit of the Spiced Pumpkin on my background. Next to each heart I added some rubons from Kaisercraft, of course I chose phrases that fit the layout.
I also added a bit of stamping to my background with Dylusions, Hampton Arts and Prima Stamps and Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. The arrows are from my stash and a past Flying Unicorn kit, and were treated to the black ink. The title is made from naked chippies I had, and were coated in Lindy's Stamp Gang's Spring Leaf Chartreuse, and the black with the Memento Ink, then a bit of Silks in Black Ice.
The transparency pieces are old as the hills Tattered Angels, the chippy flowers are stickers from Graphic 45, and the Green flowers are Petaloo Darjeelings. The buttons and twine are from my stash.
I also added a bit of washi tape from Prima, and my stash, under my photo, as well as a piece of Prima packaging (just beneath the pic).
I had a blast doing this layout! And I think I steered clear of the Halloween Theme!
