Yes, I'm late in posting my DT project for 1~2~3 Get Scrappy....totally forgot. Ugh!! I hate when I do that!!
Here's the board we are working with this month......love!!
Awesome board, isn't it? I chose the middle vertical row: Hand drawn stitches, Plaid pattern and the word Love. Here's my take on this challenge......
I started with papers from Authentique, Recollections and scraps from GCD. I added some gesso to my background, and then layered on some Lindy's Stamp Gang's Starburst Spray in Breakfast Club Blue through a Clear Scraps Stencil. Then I flipped my stencil over, and rubbed off, the excess spray here and there.
I added a ton of stamping, using stamps from Unity Layers of Life 'All for Love' and 'Time to be Happy Again' with Ranger Archival Ink in Hydrangea and Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Peeled Paint. The word love is repeated many times on the layout. The red 'stitches' are hand drawn with Faber-Castell Pitt Artist Pen in Magenta.
The flowers....love flowers!.....are all from Petaloo in various sizes. I also added splatters of Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Gold.....it's a very nice gold!! Just under my photo, you can see a piece of canvas, that I had previously gessoed through a stencil, I used the same Lindy's spray on that scrap.
All of the chippies are from a project that didn't make it! I've had these altered pieces in my stash for a while, and they fit perfectly with the pic and papers, so of course I used them. The punch I used is from EK Success.....I think it's called Notebook Edge.
So good news for you this month, since February is a short month, you have til March 2 to get your projects in at 1~2~3 Get Scrappy!! Now it's your turn to play, and don't forget to check out all of the gorgeous DT creations!!
