Can you believe it......17 Challenges already at 1~2~3 Get Scrappy!! That is so awesome!!! So let me start by showing you this month's board......
I had a hard time making a decision on this one. I really wanted to do the stenciling and include a pic with a dog, but I also wanted to do circles. In the end I chose the first vertical row: Dog, 2 Different Stencils and Chipboard Flowers. But I added a ton of circles too!!!! Here's my take......
I started with Studio 75 Winter Morning Papers, one for the background and a scrap for the circles and matting. Once the circles were glued down, I did some shading and coloring on my circles, with Faber Castell Gelatos in green and blue, and just smudged the colors together. I then added 2 different stencils over top. The first Mini Texturized from Crafter's Workshop, with a light layer of Shimmerz Dimmensionz in Grey Flannel....I very lightly sponged it on. Once dry, I added my second layer, this time using a Prima/Finnabair Bubbles Stencil and Golden Light Molding Paste. Here's a closeup......
Once the stenciling was dry, I added stamping in the background using Unity Spring Inspired Stamps and Memento Ink in Bamboo Leaves, then using another stamp from the same set, I went over it with Ranger Archival Ink in Jet Black. The blue circles on the background, were created with yet another stamp from the collection, and Golden Liquid Acrylic Paint in Anthraquinone Blue, which I watered down, just a bit.
Over the bubbles stenciling, I added Pan Pastels in shades of blue and green, and then went around those circles with my Uniball Signo White Pen. The flowers are Petaloo Botanicas Burlap Blossoms and Botanica Minis in Green. The chippy flowers are from Prima, and are gessoed. Once dry, I added a Prima Say It In Crystals to each one.
Around the large circles, I used a Stabilo Aquarellable Pencil, and then went over it with a waterbrush. Then I added circles with 2 different Paint Markers from Elmers....yes Elmers!! I bought these a few years ago at Walmart, and am now finally using them. The colors are vibrant, and go on easily over top of all of the media on my page......I will definitely use these more on my Mixed Media layouts and projects!!!! I just circled around the circles, with green and blue, and then went back around with the Signo White Pen, and my Pilot Permaball Pen in Black. Those two pens, are my faves.....they write on just about anything!!!
The large blue blossom is from Recollections, and the smaller one, was a discard from another project....I think possibly from Prima, and it was sprayed and gessoed, but I am unsure of which products I used on it. The 'Inspire' stamp is from Donna Downey's Adore Words. And the 'Love' resin is from Prima.
The last step was to used Prima's Stitches Stamp and Jet Black Ink around the inside edges. I used paint from a Liquitex Paint Marker in Cerulean Blue Hue, to add smudges of paint on the outer edges.
I am very happy with this layout, and love how the green flowers and media, just pop off this page!! Now, it's your turn to play....head on over to the 1~2~3 Get Scrappy Blog, and enter your layout!!
