Challenge time!!!! Have we got a great one for you.....Christmas in July!!!!! So, this week your creation needs to be Christmas themed, and the twist is to include a tree or branch (or evergreen bow) on your creation.
Here's my take on the challenge...........
I usually have a real hard time creating Christmas themed items in the summer time, but I guess I needed it, because I was very inspired to create this layout. The inspiration.....the Memory Box Flowering Christmas Tree Die.....LOVE!!!!
Papers are an older collection from Riddersholm Designs, I Believe Collection. And yes, the title is from the manufacturer strip! I used punches from Martha Stewart, and then distressed the edges of some of the papers, and then added Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Vintage Photo. Some stencilling with a Heidi Swap stencil and Viva Decor Pearl Pen in Silver, adds a bit of interest to the red paper.
The trees....I die cut 2 trees for each one, and then glued them together, to give it strength. If I'm not mistaken, there is a background die for this die, but I don't own it. So I just traced around the die itself, to make the background for each tree. I added stickles in Star Dust on each flower, and then sprayed the top layer in Prima's Gold Foil Color Bloom. Once dry, I used silver Liquid Pearls from Ranger, to dot the centers of each flower on the trees.
The flowers are older Petaloo Velvet Poinsettias, the glitter leaves are a spray from Michaels. The glitter snowflakes were purchased at Walmart.
Hope you enjoyed my Christmas creation, now head on over to the Twisted Tuesday blog to check out all of the DT creations.
Happy Christmas Creating!
