It's time for our bi-weekly challenge over at Twisted Tuesday! This time your challenge is 'A Rose for my Sweetie', so show us a rose on your creation. The Twist is to use a sweetheart theme. Make your creation with your Sweetheart in mind. Spouse, adorable child/grandchild, etc.
Here's my take on the challenge......
I decided to do a canvas. The pic is of my DGS and SIL at a family photo shoot. The canvas is from Artist's Loft, there is paper from BoBunny under the mixed media layers, but you can't really see it!
I used paints from Liquitex Basics in Bright Aqua Green, Phthlo Green, Brilliant Yellow Green, Naples Yellow Hue, Cerulean Blue Hue, Light Blue Permanent, Mars Black, and Titanium White. I also used Liquitex Soft Body in Napthol Crimsom and Phthlo Blue (Green Shade). Lots of layering here with either a pallette knite, or an old credit card, and stencils. Stencils used are from Dylusions, Dotted Flowers, Letter Jumble, Diamond Border and Number Jumble and Balzer Designs Mini Tiny Circles. I went over the layers of paint with 13 Arts Gesso and a Prima Stencil. I edged my canvas with a Faber-Castell Gelato in Black.
I added some rubons from & Gypsies Time over the paint. The large flower is from Recollections. I then sprayed an I Am Roses rose with Lindy's Stamp Gang's Flat Fabio in Rizzo's Rowdy Red, and then oversprayed it with Adirondack in Red Pepper. The alphas are from Prima's Engraver Collection. The wood veneers are Momenta.
I used burlap from Michaels and an ATC divider from 7 Gypsies under my photo. The twine (under flower) is from my stash, as are the 2 metal photo corners.
Head on over to the Twisted Tuesday blog, to check out all of the DT projects. And don't forget to enter your creation, for a chance at winning a Guest Design spot on the blog!!
