I have another layout share for you, from our Guest Design gig at CSI Color Stories Inspiration. This week, we solved Case File # 123. Here's how I solved the case......
I've mentioned before (I think) that when I do challenges, I try very hard to use up my stash, along with all of the new goodies I have! I might need another 50 years or so, to just get through what I have now, nevermind, what I keep buying! LOL
Ok, so I started with BoBunny's Deja Vu paper from the C'est La Vie Collection....been hoarding this one! Then I sprayed Lindy's Stamp Gang's Ocean Breeze Blue and Dylusions London Blue through The Crafter's Workshop Cherry Blossoms stencil. Love that stencil! Once it was dry, I went back over the flowers with Staedtler Aquarell pencils, in greens and blues, to give the flowers more color. Next I watered down a bit of red Gelato, and sprinkled it over my page. I did the same with Dylusions Cherry Pie, and then let it all dry.
I added strips of paper scraps and washi tape (SEI, Sandy Lion, Stash) behind my photo. The doily stencil is from Crafter's Workshop/Rebekah Meier and is called Mini Rosetta.....love! So I ran some 13 Arts Gesso through it. Now, I'm not sure if this gesso, is supposed to be that thick, but mine is so thick, that I can use it as an embossing paste.....which I love, because, it stays white. Don't look at the bit of red on the stencilling....apparently I didn't let the sprinkling dry completely! LOL
I used my 'new to me' Uniball Signo white pen to add a few dots on the flowers. The heart word chippy is from Maya Road (past Flying Unicorn kit), and the little wood heart is from my stash, and both were inked with Prima chalk ink in Rose Bud, then washed over with Silks Acrylic Glaze in Pink Anthurium.
The flowers are from Petaloo's Botanica Collection in Blooms White and Minis Pink.
Love the little hints of pink/red on the white blossoms!!
This stencil is very versatile, and it's definitely going to be a new fave!
Hope you enjoyed my layout, now head on over to CSI to check out all of the DT and CT projects. We'd love to have you join in on the fun! Of course you'll need goodies to play with.....next stop the Flying Unicorn Store, where you'll find scrapbooking papers and embellishments, mixed media supplies and even home decor products for all your crafty needs!!!
