I just realized that today is the 10th of July, and I am late in posting for 1~2~3 Get Scrappy! And......it's a special one! Today marks the second anniversary.....yep that's right.......24 months of challenges!
Unfortunately, it also marks the last challenge for 1~2~3 Get Scrappy. Melina (owner), has made the decision to close the challenge blog. This is very sad news for all of us......yes, all of us! Too many challenge blogs have closed down.
I want to thank Melina for everything! It's been a long ride! First as a DT on her Twisted Tuesday Challenge Blog, and now a DT on 1~2~3 Get Scrappy. I've had a blast playing along with these challenges, and will surely miss them!
I will also miss all of my fellow DTs, very much!! Their work is just amazing!!! And if you haven't had the opportunity to check out their work......then check out my sidebar, for each of their blogs, and you will see how tremendously talented these ladies are!!!!
Okay, enough boo-hooing......let's get on with the challenge......
It's all about the color, this time around. I chose the diagonal row: Lots of yellow, grey background and lots of black. Why? I don't know, it just worked out this way. Here's my take on our final challenge......
The papers I used, are all from Kaisercraft's Blue Bay Collection. I also added Journaling Cards from the same collection, for photo mats, and the corner piece.
For the background, I used Dina Wakley Paint in Lemon through a Prima Stencil 'Magnolias'. Then ran Golden Light Molding Paste through a Tim Holtz stencil 'Burlap'. The circle bits peeking out from under the pic and in the bottom corner, are an old-as-the-hills chippy 'Luxe Circles' from Pink Paislee, which I gessoed black, and then added Lindy's Stamp Gang Embossing Powder in Midnight Pewter Obsidian, over top. My title is from 13 Arts Starlight Words, and is painted with the same Lemon paint, as the background.
The flowers, are all from Petaloo......definitely my faves!!! I used Burlap Birdsnest in Teal, Velvet Pansies in Teal, Burlap Wild Sunflowers, Burlap Flowers in Yellow, Dahlias in Teastained Blue, Darjeeling Mini Mix in Teastained Blue and Darjeeling Petites in Teastained Blue.
Well, that's it. Thank you again to Melina, and to all of the 1~2~3 Get Scrappy DT's for having me on the team! I enjoyed working with all of you very much! See you on the flip side!!
